Paying for treatment
Patients
with health insurance
If you are covered by one of the
major health insurance schemes, then your insurance
may cover the cost of treatment at the Sagar Apollo
Hospital. (Before undergoing any kind of private treatment,
you should always check with your insurance company
to ensure that you have adequate cover for the treatment
required.)
The Hospital's Inpatient Accounts Department can also
provide guidance.
Hospital bills for inpatient and day care treatment
can generally be settled directly with your insurance
company, but for outpatient investigations and treatment,
you will usually be required to pay the hospital and
seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
For further information on insurance schemes accepted,
please telephone Inpatient Accounts on +91 (0) 80 653
6700-13.
Self-pay patients
If you do not have health insurance,
and are not being sponsored by your company or embassy,
you will of course have to pay for treatment yourself.
For some patients, our Fixed Price Treatment scheme
may be appropriate. This scheme ensures that you know
in advance what your operation will cost and can therefore
budget accordingly. To find out more about Fixed Price
Treatments please go to the side menu.
If you want to pay by cash, credit
card or cheque….
If you are paying for your own treatment,
you will normally be required to settle your hospital
bill before you have any tests or treatment. The Hospital
accepts all major credit cards, sterling travellers
cheques, cash and personal cheques if supported by a
bankers card. A passport is required if you wish to
pay with travellers cheques.
If your company is paying for your
treatment….
The Hospital has credit arrangements
with some companies. In such cases the patient must
provide a letter of guarantee authorising the tests
or treatment to be carried out.
If your embassy is paying for your
treatment….
The Hospital has credit arrangements
with some embassies. In such cases the patient must
provide a letter of guarantee authorising the tests
or treatment to be carried out.
What about the doctors' fees?
All medical fees relating to specialist
consultations and treatment are separate from any hospital
charges and therefore need to be settled directly with
the specialist(s) concerned.
