No More surgery to get rid of fibroids
Bangalore : Fibroids, a common non-cancerous growth that occurs in 80 per cent of women, are treated either by medication or surgery, the latter being complicated and time-consuming.

On Saturday, a new option and facility was introduced by the Sagar Apollo hospital a non-surgical treatment called Uterine Arterial Embolisation (UAE), practiced through an exclusive fibroid clinic and dedicated website to spread awareness.

The clinic at Sagar Apollo is the first-of-its-kind in the country and has wards ranging from the low-en to the expensive. Patients opting for the general ward will get treatment at Rs.15,000, including hospital stay, room rent and other inclusive facilities. The presidential ward will cost Rs.48,000.

The UAE procedure brings hospital stay to one day. And unlike surgery, is minimally invasive and does not pose problems of infertility conception, menstruation or pregnancy.
